Amby Rose Makeup Brush Review

I’ve always been a long standing fan of Chanel Boateng, having watched her on YouTube for years! When I found out she was launching her own makeup line, I couldn’t be happier! It’s always nice to see someone else’s success story and growth, not only for personal inspiration, but just just generally! It’s nice to see people doing well through hard work and dedication.

I purchased the 4 face brush set and couldn’t wait to receive it! Also, I want to add let’s never under estimate the importance of good customer service! I got emails letting me know the process of my order, and when it was dispatched. Upon receipt, the brushes were well packaged and each individually packed in plastic, with a thicker plastic outer packaging. I was really happy with the post-order/pre-delivery service.

Once I had these brushes in hand I couldn’t wait to use them! As you can see, I did a fuller face than I usually wear for day-to-day, just so I could utilise all of the brushes. Post primer and colour corrector, I used the F1- Flat Top Buffer Brush to blend in my Mac NW45 Studio Sculpt Foundation. This brush felt amazing! Did such a good job of blending in my foundation for a flawless finish! I was worried about shedding as the bristles are synthetic, but no issues there, in fact the brushes are super soft! For my contour, I used the F3- Tapered Face Brush together with Cover Girl Cosmetics ‘Queen Collection’ Ebony Bronze. At some point I’d like to try out using a darker concealer or foundation for my contour, but at the moment I’m sticking with this! After all, if it ain’t broke why fix fit?! The brush was great, small enough to get right into the creases of my non-existent cheekbones! Again, the brush was super soft but too big to contour my nose unfortunately! Next, I used the F4- Angled Kabuki Brush for my blush which was Mac Raizin (one of my favourites!) The angle to the brush is perfect for applying blush, giving great coverage. Finally, to finish off my face I used Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess powder to set my make up, taking a break from my usual Mac Mineralise Skinfinish in Dark Deep. This brush was perfect to finish my face, super soft and small enough to hit all the areas of my face.

All in all, the £13.99 spent on this set was well worth it. Another added bonus is the striking colour of the brush handles, very different from what’s out there on the high street which is great, and the design really works. Next purchase? The 8 piece brush set obviously!
